The word ‘itqaan’ in Arabic means ‘perfection’, ‘precision’, or ‘mastery’. Itqaan Institute is dedicated to transmitting perfection, precision and mastery of Qur’anic recitation through Shaykh Abdullah’s sanad (chain of transmission) back to the Prophet ﷺ.

Shaykh Abdallah teaches Hafs ‘an ‘Asim. 

Currently we can only offer Hafs ‘an Asim. However, we will offer other teachers with other recitations, for example Warsh, later in 2020 in sha’Allah. 

Shaykh Abdallah teaches in English or Arabic.

Yes. Students will learn the makharij (exit points) of the letters and the rules of tajwīd as they read to Shaykh Abdallah or one of our master teacher, who corrects them. This methodology differs from many contemporary courses which often emphasize theoretical learning of rules above practical learning through recitation. Our methodology is a fusion of both. Nonetheless, it will be helpful to have some knowledge of the rules of tajwīd. 

Yes. One of the prerequisites of talqeen (instruction) is face to face interaction with the teacher.

All classes are conducted are conducted via Zoom, so you will need to download Zoom on your laptop, tablet or smartphone. We also suggest you invest in some good quality headphones, as well as a good internet connection.

We have a limited number of classes reserved for beginners, provided you have can read the Arabic script of the Qur’an with fluency. There will be a placement test interview for all new students. 

At this time we do not offer Arabic learning resources. 

We are happy to reschedule a class if you give us 24 hours notice. All students receive our rescheduling policy upon registering. 

We reserve a limited number of classes for children. Our spaces for children are now full, but we hope to launch ItqaanKids in the near future with a new teacher. Please contact us for further details.

Everything is on a monthly subscription; please contact us if you are looking for a different arrangement.

As a new institute, we can only offer very limited financial assistant. Please contact us if you will struggle with payment and we will do what we can to help.
We aim to make our services affordable, and Shaykh Abdallah Deeb will teach several advanced students for free every year, upon interview. Please contact us for more information.
